Grants & Scholarships

Trust Members have the opportunity to apply for scholarship funding to support education and training opportunities related to safety and risk management. Seven scholarships are awarded per year.

This grant provides an opportunity for Trust Members to apply for funding to support the purchase of safety equipment and/or services that helps to promote a positive safety culture, a safer working environment, and reduce the frequency and severity of claims. Thirty grants are awarded each year.

This grant provides funding to support the purchase of safety equipment and/or services that help to promote, support, or expand life safety and/or emergency action initiatives.

Each year, The Trust awards a monetary grant for up to $5,000 for a health/wellness initiative that shows ingenuity, creativity, and innovation. Collaborate with your wellness committees to submit a creative proposal that will benefit employee health in the workplace and beyond.

The Working Wellness Award provides monetary funding to help support Health Matters Members who are actively
working to implement initiatives designed to help establish and strengthen the wellness culture in the workplace.
The Award recognizes well thought out health and wellness programming developed by Wellness Coordinators and
their Committees.

Maximize your leadership potential by applying for the Stephen A. Alfred Award. Designed to help our Members become better leaders by covering to costs associated with leadership driven professional development.  

The Protect Our Buildings Grant program allows Members interested in implementing the HSB IoT Building Sensor program to have initial costs paid for by The Trust. Through the Grant program, The Trust pays the first $1,000 of costs, or provides a First Year Free, whichever is a greater amount. This allows Members to implement the HSB IoT Building Sensor program and have their buildings protected without delay, and then submit for funding through the budget process for year two and beyond.
